Patient Review 1:

Deep cleaning, fillings, and sealants. Very patient, caring, informative, and helpful with insurance related matters. Movies when working on fixing teeth (non-cleaning operations).

However, he is the only Dentist I have been to and so I can't compare and say that he is the absolute best. What I can confidentaly say is that he is a very comfortable person to be with and have work on your teeth and he has been great in those regards.

About Hygienist: Michelle - very friendly and gentle. My deep cleaning lasted 2 hours and subsequent cleanings have been 1 hour or so.

I have had a cleaning and fillings done and I was looked after very well from both the hygienists and Dr. Hodge. I also appreciate the personal attention Dr. Hodge gives to his patients. I received a call before my first visit to the office and one after my filling procedure to check how I was doing.

My son who is 43yrs old needed a dentist right away when he was 13yrs old and Dr Hodge was the only one who would come down to take care of him after hours and he is still my Dentist. I am 77yrs old and I would not go to any other Dentist. All of his staff are awesome no complaints. I am not family or on his staff but we are friends. I use to be afriad of dentist s but not anymore. I told him from the getgo if he hurts me i'll not come back, Iam still with him

I found Dr. Hodge when I needed emergency dental care. I am very afraid of dentists, and pain, and searched for one who took pride in being pain free. Not only was he able to see me quickly, but the appointment was very successful and I have been coming back ever since. I have recommended him highly over the years. The staff is very customer oriented and will do everything they can to make you feel comfortable. This includes blankets, heated chairs, headphones, movies, etc. Dr. Hodge and his assistants are careful and take their time to avoid causing pain. He is a perfectionist and takes pride in making sure the work is done right. He also takes a personal interest in his patients and has a good chair-side manner. His costs seem in line with other dentists and the office staff is very efficient in helping to work out payment details. You can't go wrong!

About Hygienist: There have been several different hygienists but they are always professional and well-trained, and meet Dr. Hodge's exacting standards of making the patient comfortable and doing an excellent job.

Our family started with Dr. Hodge years ago and just can't give him up due to the excellence of quality workmanship done on our teeth. He is an artist! Our insurance coverage has changed over the years, and sometimes it has not been very good, but we just foot the bill during those times because some things you can't put a price on. We have appreciated Phil's willingness to go the extra mile a couple of times in the past years with dental situations. Clearly he cares about his patient's interests. We recommend Dr. Hodge every chance we get. He's great!

I enjoy going to see Dr. Hodge and his staff. All the fillings I have had in mouth have never bothered me. He says that they are going to be painless, but to be honest you can still feel some of what they are doing and you are sitting in the chair so long that my jaw bothers me for the long appointments. At my other dentist I was never there very long. It seems like Dr. Hodge takes his time to be perfect which is a good thing, but it is very hard for me to be in the chair for hours.

The front desk girls are very nice and helpful when it comes to all the insurance stuff. I wish that Dr. Hodge was a provider for my plan because I have to pay more to go see him, but he is closer to my house than my previous dentist so it is worth it.

Overall mostly good experience I would recomend him to my friends if I knew they didnt care that it costs a little more and takes longer.

About Hygienist: Everytime I go I have a new hygienist. I did have a one I like but last time I went she is not there anymore. In the couple of years I have been a patient he has had alot of new employees

Well more expensive than other places the service is worth the cost, i had two cavities filled recently and it was nearly painless, and the staff is courteous. Also the personal call from Dr. Hodge to check up after the procedure was very nice.

I have been seeing Dr. Hodge for about 7 years now. He definately goes above and beyond most dentists I have seen previously. The ladies in the front desk are always cheerful and very helpful. For the most part all visits are pleasant, and thats saying alot for me because I am not a fan of going to the dentist. It is great to be able to watch a movie during the appoinment, sometimes 2 due to the length of the procedure.

One thing I notice is that the staff changes rapidly, I usually like to see the same hygienist and that does not happen here.

Overall a good dental office and a great dentist!

Dr. Hodge is the best dentist you will find! His office has gone to great lengths to ensure that you are comfortable from the moment you walk into the office until the moment you leave. What a treat to leave work to lay down in a heated massage chair, put on the movie glasses, and zone out to a DVD as work is done on my mouth! You will never feel a thing. His work is the highest quality, and he even calls you at home after your appointment just to make sure everything feels right as the numbness wears off - on his personal time! You won't find a dentist or doctor that has the committment to customer service like Dr. Hodge does. I would - and do - recommend him to anyone I know!

Dr Hodge and his staff do their very best to make every visit a pleasant experience. I was worried that I would be chastised for a few years of dental neglect, but Dr Hodge was patient and took the time to explain some dental concepts and put together a plan for getting my teeth back to healthy. I never have to fear coming out of Dr Hodge's office in pain as he is very sensitive to my comfort. Dr Hodge is not in my insurance network, and so I pay quite a bit more to see him, but I'm so impressed with his office that I think the money is well spent.

About Hygienist: The entire staff is excellent from hygenists to the office staff. I feel like I am visiting with friends when I visit.

They take such good care...the novocaine was painless and they made sure I was good and numb. They put vaseline on my lips so they wouldn't crack, a muscle cream on my jaws so they wouldn't hurt, plus I got to watch Muppets Treasure Island on the video goggles! All in all a very pleasant experience! Thanks

Dr. Hodge does an excellent job in makeing sure his patients are comfortable, relaxed but most of all pain free. He runs a staff that knows you by name and provides excellent customer service. It would definitly be worth your time to visit him for a consultation. Who knows, maybe during one of your appointments you can wear glasses that play a movie of your choice. Cheers!

I have a lot of anxiety about going to the dentist and I have been vetry satisfied witht he stress free enviornment he creates to do the work.

Dr. Hodge is very freindly and always call in the evening after any work he has done to check on you.

All the staff are very friendly and know who you are when you walk thru the door. Hygenists are very good and communicate verywell with Dr. Hodge.

Dr. Hodge is always a professional. He is always concerned about the comfort of his patient. He is thorough and takes the time to explain things. He always seems to be up on the latest technical advances. Going to Dr. Hodge is a great experience. His staff is always so helpful and cheerful. I do have to pay extra for his services because Dr. Hodge is not within the network of my insurance company. But with the excellent service I get the extra I pay is worth it.

About Hygienist: Fahreen is the absolute best hygienist I've ever had. She is so thorough and gentle. Her knowledge of her profession is outstanding. She is the absolute best in administering novocain shots.

Dr. Hodge is an excellent dentist. Here is a little story. Dr. Hodges' hobbie is photography and he displays his pictures around the office. On one of my visits he was telling me about the meticulous care he took in getting a particular shot. He said regretfully, "I guess I am just a perfectionist." I thought this was amusing because it is so true. As a patient, I value his drive to make his work perfect. On the other hand, if you are not perfect in your dental care, you need not worry. All the staff in the 20 years I have been his patient have always been polite and encouraging. The office staff is also very courteous and efficient. As an added bonus, you can take a greeting card with one of his photos home with you as well as a tooth brush. I recommend Dr. Hodge' services.

Dr. Hodge and his staff helped to allay my restorative dental work anxieties. Their expert and pain free numbing procedures started the fillings off on the right note. While having my work done, I watched a great movie through special goggles, had my back massaged by the dental chair, and cuddled up with a soft blanket while the pleasant Dr. and his staff quietly worked away in my mouth. Having so many distractions helped me to forget about the rubber dam in my mouth and the high pitched hum of the drill. Dr. Hodge really cares about his patients and has carefully chosen staff that reflect his passion for the art of dentristry and making the patient as comfortable and pain free as possible. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for someone who genuinely cares about your mouth, educates you on how to floss and bruss and the causes behind many of the common dental problems around, and is an all around pleasant person to deal with. Dr. Hodge is easily the best dentist I have ever been to and having lived in many other parts of the USA I have had many other dentists.

He is always looking for ways to make your dental visit as relaxing and painless as possible and he is very successful at both of these endeavors. After any major dental procedure, he always calls you at home to see how you are doing. He is very caring and professional. He takes great pride in his work.

Dr. Hodges' office staff are also very professional as well as friendly. They are always willing to help you with any insurance or billing questions.

I believe Dr Hodge is running a first rate practice and is appyling the latest techniques in Dentistry in order to provide a high level of profesionalism. I switched to Dr.Hodge because I have experienced appointment making issues, failures in repairs made to my teeth and a feeling that the dentist was poorly fitting crowns..etc. I have had none of that with Dr. Hodge.

Some practices are happy places and that is because people enjoy and support each other when working to provide a high level of professional care, the patient ultimately benefits from this type of environment.

I have been very happy with the quality of care Dr. Hodge provides and am impressed by the comfort I feel during and following treatment. I am still happily suprised by phone calls I recieve from Dr Hodge himself the evening after I have had work completed. I believe this is someone striving for the best standard in care and treatment outcome.

We received a flyer from Dr. Hodge's office about a week after moving into the Kent area. We needed to find a dentist and figured that we would give him a chance. Five years later, my wife & I are still going to Dr. Hodge twice a year. When we've had work done, he has always followed up with us ( even long after the office has closed). In fact, he's called after 8:00PM just to make sure that we're doing okay. He really cares which is part of the reason we keep coming back. We have referred several co-workers to Dr. Hodge and they too have been happy with the dental service he provides. He even has his own official website. PLEASE NOTE - I rated Dr. Hodge as expensive because my wife and I pay 'Out of Network' cost. I do believe that he has recently joined a network provider.

I hate the dentist. I hate the building the office is in and the street it's on. Too much a fear factor.. all.

Somehow I keep finding my way back to Dr. Phil's office at least a couple times a year. I get a kick out of him and his staff...

Now wait a minute... maybe he's not really a dentist, but some sort of magician...and that's how I still have my teeth...

He is very kind and gentle and "caters to cowards".

After many of my appointments, he has called that evening to make sure i am not in any discomfort and that i am pleased with his work.

I have not been the best patient as at times I would neglect appointments, and miss flossing as often as I should. Dr. Hodge has always kept reminder calls to get me there when I needed to. I thought his prices were a bit high and tried 2 other dentists during a 2 year span. Both dentists to my surprise asked who did the existing work, and said it was beautiful work!. I found prices were close to on par with others and scheduled back with Dr. Hodge.

So...the other dentists reviewed him in my opinion and that is the best recomendation I could hear.

Pain free dental, attention to detail, and excellent work...+ always a call on rough apppointments to check on how I'm doing. Nice to have a dentist that cares.

Also...he is truely an artist, I did photography for several years and his photo's are truely impressive. His free photo after an appointment beats the old treasure chest days! :-)

I would recommend Dr. Hodge to anyone. After moving here I was looking for a new Dentist and his flyer just happened to be in my mailbox one day. I asked several of my co-workers if they knew of him and some of them did and recommended him. He, and his staff, are very focused on you, the patient, while you are in their office. I had my 1st procedure (other than cleanings) with Dr. Hodge today and am totally impressed with how painless everything went. I even got to watch a movie while the procedure was taking place - how cool is that! His chairside manor is wonderful and his staff go out of their way to be sure that you are ok and are comfortable. I have never enjoyed dental work, however I will defintely be more relaxed after my experience today. I highly recommend Dr. Hodge for your dental needs.

Always a painless, pleasant visit. I have, and will continue to reccommend Dr. Hodge to friends. My only concern is the frequent turn-over of the hygienists and dental assistants. It seems to come in waves. I go in for my six-month cleaning and all of the hygienists and dental assistants that were there six-months ago are gone and new staff is there. This seems to happen every few years. Other than that my family and I have no complaints about Dr. Hodge and his staff. We are all very comfortable and feel that staff listens to our concerns and meets our needs efficiently.

Dr. Hodge and his staff are awesome! They are professional, pleasant, and truly care about their patients' experience. Dr. Hodge is careful as he works and always asks if I'm doing okay. I have almost fallen asleep in the chair several times, which is the very highest praise I can give to any dentist! The office is pleasant, and tastefully decorated with several of Dr. Hodge's beautiful photographs.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Hodge for roughly the past twelve years and have enjoyed the experience from which he and his staff provide. Going to the dentist is not everyone's favorite thing to do in life, however how you are treated and how comfortable you are can make such a huge difference.

Growing up I never liked going to the dentist and really did not have that many pleasant experiences. I wound up not going for a few years until my wife "encouraged" me to start going. I chose Dr. Hodge because of the good reviews from my sister and mom who had been seeing him for years.

Having not gone for a while I was a little nervous, but I must say from the staff at the front desk to the dental hygienists and Dr. Hodge they all made me feel comfortable and listened to my concerns and worked well with me to give me a comfortable experience. Since then Dr. Hodge has done some wonderful work with my teeth and I am glad my wife "encouraged" me to go and I have had no regrets and would encourage anyone that was like me to give Dr. Hodge and his staff a chance.

I can't say enough about how much I have enjoyed the staff that bring a professional and friendly environment.

I will never be afraid to go to the dentist again. I didn't feel ANY pain at any time during the lengthy procedure, and Dr. Hodge thoroughly explained everything he was doing before, during and after my treatment. His patience and personal care was phenomenal. The environment was comfortable and caring, and the doctor and staff went to great lengths to assure my comfort and the success of my treatment. Dr. Hodge even called me later that evening to make sure I was doing alright. I was about to ask my reg doctor for drugs to take before going to the dentist. My experience was that unpleasant. But Dr. Hodge was recommended to me and I have no qualms about going to the dentist or feel the need to get calming drugs before going. Dr. Hodge and his staff are very gentle and concerned for your comfort.

I used to have discomfort eating due to sensitive teeth. After evaluating my teeth, coming up with a game plan (both dental and financial) and getting all the work done I no longer have any concerns about experiencing discomfort everytime I eat.

I would and do highly recommend Dr. Hodge and his staff.

The only improvement I could see would be for Dr. Hodge to become a Preferred Provider so my insurance would cover more.

Dr. Hodge started off on the right foot by stressing preventative dentistry, working diligently to get me flossing, and their patience was rewarded after several years. Since then, I've seen the office ebb and change over the years, for a while it seemed more focused on $ than service, perhaps they are getting their balance back. All the work I've had done has been first rate as far as I can tell, and really strives for that painlessness. In comparison to my husband's dentist bills, it is quite pricey.

I am a very picky person, but I've been seeing Dr. Hodge for over 26 years, he and his staff are some of the best in the business. They have some of the newest and most inovative equipment on the market. I've never had a bad experience, dispite having extensive work done. Dr. Hodge's always has a superior chair side manner. Listens to his patients concerns and never takes anything for granted. His work is first rate. I started seeing him about 8 years ago when I needed a crown, although I hadn't seen a dentist in over 13 years, I didn't get a lecture or scolding. After any kind of work, Dr. H always calls that night to follow-up and makes sure everthing is OK.

His office staff is first rate, always greeting patients by name and making sure they're comfortable.

Our family is new to Dr. Hodge's practice. We have been looking for a "good" dentist for a long time and I think we've found one in him. A "good" dentist to me means that he/she should thoroughly communicate to his/her patients and then have the skills to tackle any problems that come along the way. This may sound pretty basic, but honestly I haven't found a dentist that will communicate what he sees going on in my mouth... and then thoroughly will give a plan of action to improve and maintain good dental health! Wanting to stay with a dentist close to home in case of an emergency with either myself or my children, I was referred to Dr. Hodge after the dentist I had been very comfortable with for many years moved his practice. I was a little nervous, I knew I had a few gum issues to work on and needed a filling or two, but knowing that I needed to keep my teeth if I wanted to eat for the next seventy years or so, I opened the door and have never looked back. Dr. Hodge welcomed me and has treated me with dignitity and respect, walking me through every procedure I have needed. I have never been as comfortable in a dental chair as I am in his. Pain, what pain, never in his office. Anxiety, nope, you are always put at ease and made comfortable in his office. I can not say I have ever had anything but a great visit with him. My gums are back to normal and I am cavity free!! His wonderful personality shows through his ever present professionalism. His office staff are just as welcoming and professional as he is. You can tell he takes great care in making sure his staff are just the right ones!! Dr. Hodge, thanks for being the best!! Anyone who needs a dentist would be crazy not to walk into your office.

Over 20 years ago, I realized I had found the right place when I walked in the reception area and read the sign, "We Cater to Cowards!" Needles have always been a huge stress inducer for me, so I really appreciate it when Dr. Hodge's staff "hide" them from me. As a result, I am extremely confident in Dr. Hodge and his staff, who are well equipped in terms of modern, technologically up-to-date equipment, as well as comforting, chair-side manners. When embarking on the path to a winning smile, Dr. Hodge takes the time to make certain you understand the options and necessary commitment -- it's a two-way street. Both he and his staff are knowledgeable, courteous and always take you through an explanation of the step-by-step process to gain the results you desire. Particularly worth noting, following more involved work such as a crown, Dr. Hodge takes the personal time during the evening immediately following the work to call you at home and make sure all is well . . . you don't find yourself in pain or discomfort, wondering if the doctor will be able to accommodate you in the near future. I went in as a first-time patient with a tooth that was eventually pulled. They did a nice job finding someone who could do it that day. The initial exam was thorough, and he takes photos as well as X-rays which helped me see what was what.

The negatives for me were the lack of follow-through. I was supposed to receive a call the next day for a recommendation of a general dentist that could do a needed root canal. That never happened.

I also gave him a crown that had fallen off and asked if it could be glued back on as a stopgap. He said yes, put it with my chart, and it was never done or scheduled.

The office is pleasant, but I'd appreciate a little less cloying and a little more drive to the finish line.

I went to Dr. Hodge for 20years , then I tried some places closer to my home that were a little less expensive . It is about an hour drive for me to see him . I came back . It is worth every mile of the commute and the extra dollars . The office staff is sweet and welcoming. It is like visiting old friends . Dr. Hodge is a DENTAL ARTIST he works to make crowns look like they are the client's own teeth , he strives for the perfect fit and the optimum bite . He makes temporaries that look like permanent crowns. I brag about Dr. Hodge to anyone who will listen. What other dentist would call you personally to make sure you are doing alright after a procedure? Plus his whole staff is so friendly and helpful from checking your insurance rates to the most painless procedures I have ever had! Dr. Hodge also creates a file with a timeline of recommended procedures so I never feel pressured or surprised by anything. I was very pleased with my visit to the office of Dr. Hodge. What I most appreciated were the explainations before, during, and after work was done. Work was done on a front tooth and, and when finished, it looked great. I was not in pain and yet was able to lecture 2 1/2 hours after leaving the office. I was treated respectfully and given individualistic care and treatment. I will recommend Dr. Hodge whenever I am able.

The staff is always cheerful and in great moods. They know you by name when you walk in the door. Dr. Hodge always calls you at home after dental work to see how you are doing. There is never any pain when I go to his office. I don't avoid the dentist like I used to since I started going to Dr. Hodge. The hygienists are great...they always remember something from your last visit (for example...my vacation to Disneyland). Going in there reminds me of visiting with old friends.

From the moment you enter the office, staff is very pleasant. It seems everyone remembers you and your name on subsequent visits. The assistants are very pleasant and are always asking if you are comfortable, warm, painfree. You can have a warm blanket, watch a video or listen to music if you like. Dr. Hodge is very conscious of your care and pain level. I have never been to a more pleasant patient-oriented dentist office. The billing department is very clear on what is going to happen and what your part will be. The entire office is accommodating. Dr. Hodge's facility is a wonderful place. They have a focus on doing things right the first time and performing procedures painlessly. This is the first dentist that I have ever heard of that believed in pain free dentistry, and is actually the reason I chose Dr. Hodge as a dentist. The staff is always very friendly: Everyone knows me by name and remembers details of our conversations from previous appointments. Because Dr. Hodge's office didn't fall under preffered caregivers on my dental plan it is slightly more expensive than the place I had gone to previously. The price difference isn't too big though and the quality care is worth it. You also get perks of watching movies during lengthy dental procedures, a free blank greeting card with personal photographs taken by Dr. Hodge in other parts of the world every time you come in, and a follow up call in the evening after you have had a procedure done. It's nice that Dr. Hodge is honest about the procedures that need to be performed and what the time frame is, to take care of the problems before they become serious. I'm very satisfied with the care I get!

Dr. Hodge was recommended to us by a co-worker. My husband and I have been his patients for quite some time now. We are always greeted warmly by the front desk staff and the atmosphere in the office is calming and even inviting!

Dental examinations are very thorough. Not only are teeth checked but all areas of the face, head, and neck. I feel quite confident that if there is a problem of which I am not aware, it will be found during the exam. Besides cleanings, Dr. Hodge has provided us with fillings, sealants, and crowns. Our comfort is a top priority of Dr. Hodge and his staff of hygienists. Friendly faces and kind words always help to make us feel at ease. They explain all procedures and are always careful and gentle to provide pain-free dental care. If any discomfort occurs, they are quick to remedy.

I am also confident in the efficiency of the front desk staff. Insurance benefits are checked so that we know immediately what our financial responsibility will be prior to any services performed.

My husband and I look forward in confidence to the dental care and expertise offered by Dr. Hodge and his staff. We would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent dentist.

Dr. Hodge and his staff have finally put to rest my childhood nightmares of 1950s dentistry. Everyone is friendly, skilled and committed to pain-free visits for their patients. They let me take the rubber dam off for a rest in the middle of long appointments. They give me ibuprophen after any appointment that will have pain when the numbness wears off. They remember my name and ask about my life. Dr. Hodge always calls me at home the evening after any possibly painful appointment. I drive 45 minutes out of my way to go to this dentist, and I enthusiastically recommend him to everyone I know; especially dentist-wimps like myself!
